Published with the support of Fundació Finestres, the illustrated edition of España fea, produced by ROAD – Luis Feduchi e.U., expands the scope of Andrés Rubio’s original essay of 2022 through a powerful visual narrative that documents the urban and landscape degradation that has shaped Spain since the democratic transition.
Featuring 275 images that engage in dialogue with the text, this edition offers a critical and nuanced reading of speculation, institutional neglect, and the loss of landscape
as cultural heritage.

As in the previous edition, the volume opens with a foreword by architect Luis Feduchi, whose role as editorial director goes far beyond introduction. “Feduchi was key to the research, review, and visual articulation of the book, achieving a precise balance between image and word. His architectural perspective and critical sensitivity lend this edition a depth that transforms the essay into a tool for public debate on Spain’s territorial model,” in the words
of the author.
More than a reissue, this work is a cultural intervention conceived by ROAD to invite us to look —with rigor and responsibility— at the territory we inhabit and shape.
